Raising crew welfare to a new level

The Norwegian supply vessel owner and operator Solstad Offshore ASA wants to take the standard of living onboard their new Normand Subsea7 vessels to a new level by providing the best infotainment available on board for their crew.

The Normand subsea 7 is the first ship ever to get the new BazePort® infotainment system installed.

- At Solstad Offshore we have a continuous focus on attracting the best crew available. The BazePort® solution shall provide our crew on board with a modern communication and entertainment platform on this vessel. We believe this to be important for improving life onboard, and an edge towards the competition when recruiting the best new crew available, says New Build Project Manager at Solstad Offshore Geir Ove Olsen.

With this contract Baze Technology has won an important marine contract for their new BazePort® infotainment portal. The IPTV solution BazePort provides TV, Video on Demand, Internet, e-mail, collaboration, phone and more in one easy to use system.

- We started marketing BazePort towards the marine and offshore industry less than a year ago. The response the marked has given us has been great, and the number of contracts we are about to sign has proven all our expectations for the product, says Thorstein Rinker business development manager at Baze Technology - A study done by Seafarer’s International Research Centre (SIRC) told us that being able to keep in contact with family and friends back home improves quality of life on board significantly. BazePort® provides this facility in every cabin and recreational area onboard, along with TV, radio, music, video and more.

BazePort is delivered to Solstad Offshore by Intelecom Maritime Solutions and Baze Technology in conjunction.
