Norway and Shipping in the New Financial Landscape

Chaired by influential shipowner Morits Skaugen, the Premier Conference of the Nor-Shipping week will feature a top level line up of both Norwegian and International speakers.

Through a series of presentations and discussions, the Forum will explore successful strategies for these uncertain markets, examine how companies are adapting to the downturn, and what opportunities now exist for smart money.
 

With environmental issues firmly on the global shipping agenda, we will discuss whether it is possible to combine a progressive approach with hard nosed business choices, what Annex VI really means for shipowners, and why ship financiers now have to care about cleaner, greener shipping. As the centre piece of informed debate, discussion and top level networking during Nor Shipping week, the Forum will also explore whether a future exists for Norway as a maritime super hub when so much business and talent has gone to Asia, and in the offshore sector whether Norway can continue to lead the world in advanced OSV’s.
