New President and CEO of Statkraft

Christian Rynning-Tønnesen has been appointed the new President and CEO of Statkraft. He will follow Bård Mikkelsen who will step down.

The new President and CEO comes from the position as CEO
of Norske Skog and will take up his new position on 1 June.

"It was important for the board to find a new CEO with extensive
knowledge and experience from the energy industry and international
business.  Rynning-Tønnesen has a proven ability to generate good
results, and we are pleased that he will join Statkraft as our CEO,"
says Chairman of the Board, Arvid Grundekjøn.

"I know the energy industry both as a participant and from the
sideline, and I regard this position as an exceptionally interesting
challenge. The world needs more renewable energy, and at the same
time the existing industry structures must be developed and adapted
to new framework conditions," says Christian Rynning-Tønnesen.

Christian Rynning-Tønnesen (50) has been the President and CEO of
Norske Skog since the summer of 2006, following his recruitment as
Chief Financial Officer at the beginning of 2005. Rynning-Tønnesen
has previously held senior positions in Statkraft's top management
for 11 years, and before that he worked for McKinsey and Esso Norge.

Rynning-Tønnesen earned his degree as a chartered engineer at the
Norwegian University of Science and Technology.

Statkraft is Europe's largest renewable energy company. The Group
develops and generates hydropower, wind power, gas power and district
heating, and is a major player on the European power exchanges.
Statkraft also develops marine energy, osmotic power, solar power,
and other innovative energy solutions. In 2008 Statkraft posted gross
operating revenues of EUR 3.1 billion. The group employs 3,200 staff
in more than 20 countries.
