BazePort on Gjøa

GDF Suez E&P has awarded Intelecom an entertainment equipment contract. BazePort Infotainment system shall be delivered for all accommodation units on the Gjøa Rig.

Crew on Gjøa will benefit from having the possibility to access TV, Video on Demand, video recording facilities, information channel, safety video, CCTV, internet and more from their in cabin BazePort units. Internet and TV facilities will be provided through a fiber connection from Mongstad to the gas field 60 kilometers west of Florø.

Installation will take place at Aker Solutions yard at Stord in February 2010. BazePort will be integrated with the PA/GA and CCTV system on Gjøa

- This contract is the third major contract partners Intelecom Norge and Baze Technology has been awarded the last month alone. BazePort Infotainment can be delivered with different setup and arrangement options, without the need for making a tailor-made solution per client. This makes the solution cost effective and keeps setup and commissioning to a minimum.

About Gjøa:
Gjøa is a gas field in the North Sea, 60 kilometers west of Florø. The reservoir sits on top of a thin oil rim, and contains an estimated 40 billion cubic meters of gas reserves. The field is being developed through a joint operatorship with Statoil. Statoil is operator during the development phase, and GDF SUEZ E&P Norge will take over operations when production starts in 2010. More at GDF Suez website
